Legislative Committee: Update on states that have enacted licensure which gives ASL-HMT monopoly control of all left-handed massage therapy. Our lobbyists convince legislators that licensure is needed to protect the public from harm by left-handed individuals who do not have adequate massage training and may therefore harm people. Our lobbyists emphasize the potential harm because nobody has ever Educational Committee: By the year 2010, the licensure requirements will include a 10,000-hour training in an ASL-HMT accredited school. Tuition will be $25,000. Continuing Education: Report on how much money AFL-HMT took in from our workshops, seminars, lectures, etc. Committee on ASL-HMT School Accreditation: The Committee's report highlights the shortage of left-handed instructors and administrators. Committee on ASL-HMT professional liability insurance for left-handed massage therapists: Report on how much money ASL-HMT took in from the sale of our insurance to our members. Committee on the ASL-HMT national certification test: Report on how much money ASL-HMT took in from our national certification test. Committee on Professionalism and Ethics: Report on disciplinary actions against left-handed massage therapists who defected by converting to right-handed massage therapists, to avoid having to comply with ASL-HMT licensure requirements. |
